About Me
My name is Kat and this blog is dedicated to life with my 2 lovely steeds. Dutch is in semi-retirement and to her disprovable Romeo is the main focus in my life. We live in AR which makes life difficult when your an English rider. Our main focus is Dressage since that is about all we have here. Jumping is Dutch's fav but very limited in this state. My dream is to someday event but that is non-existent here. So join us in our adventure to do what we can while living in a state full of cowboys.
My first Horse
Dutch- the one who made it all possible
Dutch is a 24 yr old AQHA mare. I got her in April 1998, I was 12 and so was she. We have spent half our life together and I can't imagine life without her. She is my best friend, my greatest teacher, and I owe her more then I can ever repay. I've never met a horse like her and probably never will. She is worth her weight in gold. She is a fantastic lesson horse, yet still challenging for me to ride. She dislikes anything western, as it reminders her of the days before life with me, she tolerates dressage as she prefers to run and jump. She is and will forever hold the most special place in my heart.
My Dream Horse
Romeo- the future
This is Mr. Romeo. He is the horse I have dreamed about owning since I was a little girl. Palomino's were always my fav. I grew up watching Roy Rodgers with my dad and I always wanted a Trigger. My first breyer horse was a palomino and so was one of my fav lesson horses. When I first laid eyes on him I knew that he was mine. Not only because of his color, long legs, and great conformation but because of his charming personality. I always said that my next horse was going to be a warmblood and that I was NOT going to own another AQHA but really... who could resist this guy?? While he is a foundation registered QH, he is rather big (over 16h) for one. He is also rather high strung and very sensitive, I call him my prima donna. He doesn't particularly enjoy life in AR but he loves me so he tolerates (or I pretend that he does) the heat and bugs.
